Trouble Logging In?

Trouble loggin in is caused by one of the two following issues, 99% of the time.

Flash Player Plug-in Not Installed (or wrong version)

We recommend Flash Player plug-in version 7 (version 8 was released in October of 2005).

To verify that you have this version of Flash Player, open our home page at:

  1. Log into you Icovia Account
  2. Launch Icovia Space Planner
  3. With your cursor in the work area, right-click your mouse.  You should see “About Macromedia Flash Player n” where “n” is the version number.  If it isn’t version 7, uninstall it and install the correct version.

To uninstall wrong versions of the Flash Player, go to:

To install version 7 Flash Player, go to:

(same location where the uninstall tool is found)

Pop-up Blocking

Icovia launches in a new pop-up browser window. Most of today's browsers have pop-up blocking software that may prevent Icovia from launching. Often an information bar will appear at the top of your browser window when it blocks a pop-up. When this happens to Icovia typically you can click on the information bar and tell it to always allow pop-ups from Icovia.com. This will make it easy for you to use Icovia in the future!

Time to Clear the Cache?

Clearing the Cache

If you are having trouble accessing your account or logging into Icovia from one computer, but not another then read on. This is the likely symptom of a conflict between the cache on your computer and the Icovia Space Planner database. The problem is easily corrected by clearing the cache on your computer. To do this, follow the steps outlined below. The process varies slightly depending on your browser.

Internet Explorer

To force a download of current web pages:

  1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the General tab, click Settings. Under “Check for newer versions of stored pages, select "Every time you start Internet Explorer."
  3. Click OK
  4. Close all of your Internet browser windows.
  5. Reopen an Internet browser window.
  6. Launch Icovia.

If this corrects the problem, you may want to undo the last step to optimize performance.

Mozilla - Firefox

Firefox stores copies of frequently accessed pages in the cache. By doing this Firefox doesn't have to retrieve the page from the network each time you view the web page. To clear the cache immediately, click the "Clear" button to the right of the Cache category.

To reload a page at any time: Click the Reload button in Firefox's Navigation Toolbar. The computer checks the Internet to make sure you have the latest version of the page.

Netscape

Clearing History and Other Saved Information Whenever you browse the web, information such as the sites you have visited and the images you have viewed are stored on your computer is cleared.

Open the Tools menu and choose Options.

In the menu at the left-edge of the window, click the Privacy icon This opens the Privacy panel, which includes several different sections that you use to clear out information that has been stored on your computer while surfing, and also to control what kinds of information get stored in the first place.
